Clarence Raymond Phillips, 68, east Kansas City, died Sept. 14, 1990, at Veterans Hospital. He was born in Topeka and lived in this area most of his life. Mr. Phillips was an auto mechanic for Jerry Hays Ford and retired in the early 1980's. He was Navy veteran of World War II. Survivor's include his wife Daisy Phillips of the home; two sons, Howard Thuston and Clyde Bushart of Independence; three daughters, Barbara Coldbank, Kansas City, and Mary Leach and Kathryn Engle of Independence; a brother, Charles Phillips, Birmingham in Clay County, Mo.; two sisters, Velma Kennedy and Virginia Antrim of Independence; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson Independence Chapel; burial in Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the chapel.
