Pearl Ann Pycior, 84, of Lee's Summit passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at John Knox Village Care Center. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at the First Assembly of God, 425 S.W. Oldham Road in Lee's Summit. Pearl was born on May 15, 1923 in Kansas City, Mo. She was the daughter of William J. and Hazel (Carey) Smith. Pearl married Walter M. Pycior on Sept. 30, 1939 and moved to Lee's Summit in 1950. They enjoyed more than 68 years of marriage. During her life, Pearl was active in her church, singing in the choir and with the women's ministry group. She devoted her life to her children and their upbringing and care. She was an accomplished seamstress, made her children's clothes, needleworker, quilt maker and crocheter. She and her husband also square danced and were members of KC Squares.She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and daughter-in-law, Judy Pycior. She is survived by her husband, Walter Pycior of Lee's Summit; children, Michael Pycior of Grain Valley, Mo., Danny Pycior and wife, Jolly, of Lee's Summit, Wayne Pycior and wife, Susan of Springfield, Mo., Vicki Leahy and husband, Larry of Angel Fire, New Mexico, Gary Pycior and wife, Becky of Kansas City, Mo.; brother, Leroy Smith and wife, Pat of Lee's Summit; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
