Mary was my Great-Grandmother.

Mary was the first of five children born to Thomas BUTLER and Mary S. MYERS.

She was married to David Starkey BOND on March 22nd, 1869 in Greencastle, Putnam Co., IN.

Together they had nine children.

In the year of 1878, she moved with her husband from Indiana to Kansas, homesteading a farm three miles south of Alta Vista. The family moved to Thomas, OK, where they lived until her husband passed away on November 5, 1917. Afterwards she made her home with her children. Grandma Bond, while battling all the hardships of an early pioneer, was always ready and willing to go to the bedside of any suffering ones who might call on her for help.

Cause of death: Cerebral hemorrhage & diabetes mellitus.
