Rosemary Ault, 88, of Spraytown passed away at 12:40 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010, surrounded by loving family at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.
Born May 30, 1922, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Albert W. Cole and Iva Nowling Cole. Rosemary was married to Robert G. Ault on Aug. 7, 1944, in Seymour.
Before she was married she worked at Jones Drug Store in Seymour. During World War II, while her husband was stationed in Alaska, she was employed at Ball Brothers in Muncie.
Mrs. Ault was a member of Spraytown Free Methodist Church. A lifelong homemaker, she devoted her life to taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and participating in family-centered activities. She was known for her cooking skills and many a Sunday found herself and her husband surrounded by her family and treated them to a special dinner that included her famous angel food cake.
She is survived by one daughter, Pam (Jim) Taylor, Seymour; four sons, Gary W. (Jimmie-Lou) Ault, Seymour, Monte R. (Vickie) Ault, Brownstown, Dennis L. (Carol) Ault, Seymour, and Thomas G. (Terry) Ault, Freetown; nine grandchildren, Jodi (Tom) Conner, Lawrenceberg, Robyne Ault, Indianapolis, Amanda (John) Wetzel, Brownstown, Diana (Jason) Clampitt, Seymour, Leah (Brian) Branaman, Seymour, Rachel (Jimmy) Johnson, Brownstown, Robbie (Tori) Ault, Seymour, Kirsten (Josh) Beavers, Medora, and Clayton Ault (fiancé Nicole Meyer), Seymour; 14 great-grandchildren, Hanna Wetzel, Tyler Wetzel, Hunter Clampitt, Maryne Lucille Conner, Lucy Ault Conner, Logan Ault, Emilee Ault, Landon Ault, Morgan Branaman, Trevor Branaman, Kirstyn Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Ethan Fultz and Jaxson Johnson; and four sisters, Myrtle Weddell of Medora, Ethel McDonald of Seymour, Ella Jaynes of North Vernon and Buelah (Earl) Luckey of Seymour.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Ault; parents; four sisters, Sarah Marling, Elizabeth Weddell, Ruby Byarlay and Anna Elliott; two brothers, James and Robert Cole; and one granddaughter, Monica Raye Ault.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel in Seymour, with the Rev. Kent Mingus officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to time of service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Spraytown Cemetery following the service.
Memorials may be made to Spraytown Free Methodist Church or to the donor's choice of charity.
