Jacob W. Deardorff died from the infirmities of age this morning at 7:30 o'clock at his residence, 354 West Main street. He was aged 74 years, 5 months and 18 days.

He was married January 10, 1878, to Charlotte Rebecca Wilkinson, who survives, as do also their whole family as follows: Mrs. J. Howard Spangler, R.D. 10 Chambersburg; Ira L. Deardorff, Waynesboro; Mrs. M. E. Branthaver, Shady Grove; Irvin Deardorff, Good Siding; Mrs. Henry W. Good, Waynesboro; and Garnet W. Deradorff, Waynesboro, and 13 grandchildren. Mrs. J. Beam Wingert, Stoufferstown, is the surviving sister.

The main activities of his lifetime were as a veterinary surgeon from about the time of his marriage until about five years ago; as a farmer in Washington, Guilford and Quincy townships.

He was a member of the Grindstone Hill Lutheran church for many years and served on its council and as trustee. He was a member of the Jr. O.U.A.M. at Marion. He was a school director two terms in Washington township more than 40 years.

Funeral leaving his late residence in Waynesboro at 1 o'clock Monday with service in Grindstone Hill church and interment in the cemetery adjoining.
