Former Local Woman dies is Portland. (heading)
Mrs. Cora Staples Lavigne 80 wife of Joseph R. Lavigne and a former resident of this city died Tuesday morning at her home in Portland.
Born in Kennebunkport the daughter of Joseph D. and Shuah Chappell Staples. She attended local schools. She and her husband moved to Portland in 1913. She was a member of Adah Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and of the St. Lawrence Congregational church.
Surviving besides her husband are two daughter, Mrs. Barbara Harmon, Portland,Mrs Hazel McIntire, Portsmouth N. H., one son Carlyle, South Portland, two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Emerson, this city, and Mrs. James Webber, Stoneham, Mass. and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 from 11 Mellen street, Portland. burial will be in Greenwood cemetery this city.
NOTE: the cemetery should be Woodlawn not Greenwood.
