Mrs. Ruth " Mama Ruth" Huffstetler Cloninger, 94 of Dallas died Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Palliative Carecenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton, N.C.

She was born July 9, 1915 and was a native of Cleveland County and the daughter of the late Fonz Henry Huffstetler and Lona Glover Huffstetler.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, March 29, 2010 at Rankin Lake Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Loftis officiating. Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia from 2 PM until 4 PM Sunday, March 28, 2010.

Mama Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she loved flowers and retired from Rhyne's Floral Supply Co.. She was the oldest living member of Rankin Lake Baptist Church where she taught the Beginners Sunday School Class for over 40 years, long time choir member, member of the WMU, Ladies Prayer Group and served on various committees and boards.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Reverend Robert "Bob" Cloninger and wife Frances of Gastonia, N.C., Ronald "Ronnie" Cloninger and wife Brenda of Dallas, N.C., grandchildren and spouses, Dr. Karen Cloninger Lowe and husband Jeff of Gastonia, N.C., Linda Cloninger Parker and husband Randy of Gastonia, N.C., Carla Cloninger Brooks and husband Mike of Charlotte, N.C., Melody Cloninger Brunson and husband Gary of Cary, N.C., Angela Cloninger Ray and husband Jimi of Dallas, N.C., Leslie Cloninger Fenlon and husband Robbie or Bahama, N.C., Allison Cloninger Bell and husband Clint of Connelly Springs, N.C., great- grandchildren, Ashlee Sibbett, Katie and Lindsay Lowe, Jacob, Erin and Emily Brooks, Austin and Andrew Ray, Culley, Mack and Luke Fenlon, Natalie Bell, brother, Carl Huffstetler of Gastonia, N.C., sisters and brother-in law, Irene Roland, Bobbie and Harry Ogden all of Gastonia, N.C.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Boley" Clyde Cloninger, brothers, Fonz Henry Huffstetler, Jr., Coite Clinton Huffstetler and sister Agnes Johnson.

Randy Parker, Mike Brooks, Gary Brunson, Jimi Ray, Robbie Fenlon and Clint Bell will be serving as pallbearers. Deacons of Rankin Lake Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
