Sarah was my great-great grandmother on my mom's side of the family. She died several months before I was born so I never got a chance to meet her.

Please note the different birth years 1868-1871 for Sarah. I have researched several census years to prove which is closest to the correct one. Most of the other documents I have found (death certificate, headstone, etc.) show between 1867-1871, but with these other sources someone gave the information; not from her personally. Maybe she didn't want anyone to know her REAL age. Here are my findings:

1870 MO Census - not listed with her parents; she would be at least 2 - 3 yrs old (b. 1867-1868). She has 2 sisters Mary age 4 (b. 1866) Celia age 2 yrs (b. 1868)

1880 AR Census - listed with her parents; she is 8 yrs. old. Her sister Mary is 12 yrs. (would actually be 14 if the previous census is correct). Her sister Celia isn't listed in this census so I think she is deceased. Her brother John is 1 yr. old

1900 AR Census - listed with her husband and 5 children; she is 28 yrs. old. B-day listed as Nov 1871

1930 OK Census - listed with two sons, she is 56 yrs. old (b. 1873)

1940 AR Census - listed with two sons, she is 70 yrs. old (b. 1869)

As you see from the last two census - she aged 14 yrs. in a 10 yr. period. I have come to the conclusion that the year listed above (1871) is as close to the real birth date for Sarah.
