MRS. MARTHA JANE WHITESIDE
At the home of her son Mr. J. A. Hays. Mrs. Martha Jane Whlteside breathed her last. Wednesday May 23, at 6:30 A. M. Mrs Whiteside would have been ninety two, August , 18.
Five chllderen: .Mary Webber,. Los Angeles, California; Sarah Barnes, Braggs Oklahoma; J. A, Hays, Chelsea; Don Whiteside and Mattie Knox,; Watts Oklahoma; one sister: Elizabeth Harper, Miami, Oklahoma; are those who mourn her lose.
Reverend L. C. Robbins of the Baptist church deiivered the funeral, services and the remains were laid to rest In the Foyil Cemetery.

NOTE: Oral history tells that Martha's parents were from the J.J. Newberry (John Josiah Newberry) bunch and they owned a dime and ten cent store around Ark.
Martha moved to Oklahoma Roger's Co around 1907 she married almost one year after Joseph's death to Albert Whiteside.

Martha's daughter Sarah J. Hayes used to tell a story to her daughter Sarah Mae Bolinger about how, her mother would tell her stories when she was 10 years old how she walked with her mother through the trail of tears. She always talked about how the people died along the trail and they were not allowed to bury them.
