"Mrs. Emma Gardiner Cook, 82, of 2394 Green Street, pioneer member of Nibley Park and Forest Dale Wards and resident in the wards for more than 50 years, died this morning at 4:40 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Emma Driggs, 2599 Fifth East Street.
She was born April 1, 1858, in Hockley, Essex, England, a daughter of Alfred and Sarah Watts Gardiner. Her husband, Charles H. Cook, died in 1932. She came to the United States 65 years ago and was married Dec. 2, 1880. She was an active member of the Nibley Park Relief Society until a few months before her death.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Nibley Park Ward. Friends may call prior to services.
Mrs. Cook is survived by two sons, Charles G. Cook of Los Angeles and Arthur G. Cook of Bell, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Maud Schellar, Mrs. Rae Hauser (Houser), Mrs. Hazel Murcener, Mrs. Driggs and Mrs. Mildred Gatherum, all of Salt Lake City; three brothers, Arthur Gardiner of Salt Lake, and Walter and Robert Gardiner of England; two sisters, Mrs. Mathilda Binnall of Grantsville and Mrs. Rae Gurney of England, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren."
