"Charles Hurd Cook, 86, a resident of Salt Lake for the last 60 years, died at his home, 2394 Green street, Thursday at 11 a.m. of apoplexy.
He was born in England, August 27, 1845. He was employed by the Studebaker Wagon company when he first came to Salt Lake and later engaged in the blacksmith business. He was a member of the L.D.S. Nibley Park ward.
Mr. Cook is survived by his widow, Mrs. Emma G. Cook; two sons, Charles G. Cook of Los Angeles and Arthur G. Cook of Bell, Cal.; five daughters, Mrs. Maude Scheller, Mrs. R. Haused [Houser], Mrs. Hazel Mursener, Mrs. Emma Driggs, Mrs. Mildred Gatherum, all of Salt Lake, and ten grandchildren."
Charles and Emma were preceded in death by a son, Robert Alfred Cook, on October 11, 1895.
