Joseph Cochenour, 84, originally of Irwin RD 1, died May 15, 1987, at Siemon Lakeview Manor Estates. Born Aug 26, 1902, in Madison, son of the late Eli C and Annie Maria Cochenour. Preceded in death by parents; sife, Adeline (Wiley) Cochenour, who died 1983, four brothers Daniel, William, Eli, and David, three sisters: Alice Trout, Sara Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Cochenour. Survived by son, Wiley Cochenour, Rockwood RD 2; three daughters: Mrs William (Shirley) Knight, Fort Meyers, Fla; Mrs Arthur (Lois) Ackerman, McKeesport; and Mrs Steve (Emily) Becka, Bedford, Tex; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a coal miner for the Pittsburgh Coal Company. He was also a farmer. Member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church in Sewickley, United Mine Workers of America and the Appalachian Wagon Train Association. Friends will be received at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home Inc. Route 136 Madison, Westmoreland County, Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Services at the funeral home Tuesday at 1pm, with the Rev Joseph Dec officiating. Interment Mars Hill Cemetery, Sewickley Township.
