William H Cochenour
William H Cochenour, 82, formerly of Madison, died Thursday, Feb 7, 1980, in the Oak hill Home of rest and Care, Greensburg. He was born Aug 9, 1897, in Gratztown, a son of the late Eli c and Annie Jury Cochenour.
He was a member of the Hilltop United Methodist Church of Madison and the United Mineworkers of Americ, Local 5864, and was a life member of the SP James Keister American Legion Post 359 of Irwin.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ida Pearl Trout Cochenour, in 1964; by a son William, in 1955, and by a daughter, Ruby in 1930.
Surviving are a son, Glenn L of Greensvurg; four daughters, Mrs Ralph (Dorothy) Martin of Greensburg, Mrs Kenneth (Anna) McGuffey of Smithton RD1, Mrs Richard (Ida) Landis of New Stanton RD1, and Mrs Ruth DeArmitt Rothwell of Herminie; a brother, Joseph of Irwin RD1; a sister, Mrs Harry (Sara) Thomas of Springfield RD1, W VA; 17 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends are being received at the james M Beatty Funeral Home, Route 136, Madison, from 7 to 9 pm Friday and from 2-4 and 7-9 Saturday.
Services will be held at 2 pm Sunday in the funeral home with the Rev John K Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Madison Union Cemetery.
