Son of Silas Blythe and Eliza Ann Weaver.

Andrew James Blythe and Mary Jane Williams, the fourth child of Jacob and Phoebe Williams, were married on May 28, 1872. He was born February 16, 1853 and died August 7, 1901. He was a member of the Mordern Woodmen of America and was a farmer. Mary Jane was a housewife and both were members of the Baptist Church. They had eleven children. He came with his wife and family from Kentucky and settled in Morris County in November 1885. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Myrtelia Anna Blythe, who died on August 25, 1883 at 3 years old.

The 1900 Census of Parker Township, City of Parkerville, KS records Andrew's birthdate at 1851; other records show he was born in 1853.

The following resolutions were adopted by Parkerville, camp 1640 M. W. of A.

The committee on resolutions reported as follows:

Whereas: God in his infinite wisdom has seen fit to remove from our midst, our esteemed neighbor A.J. Blythe, and

Whereas: Neighbor Blythe was one of the Beneficiary members of Parkerville camp 1640 M. W. of A.

Resolved: While we bow in humble submission to the Divine Creator, we realize that in his death our camp loses a worthy member, his family, a loving father, and the community, a valued citizen.

Resolved: That the earnest sympathy of this camp is hereby tendered to the bereaved family.

Resolved: That these resolutions be recorded in the minutes of the camp and the clerk be instructed to present a copy of same to the family of the deceased and also one to the local paper for publication.
