Notes: Susan was born December 27, 1890. She was a housewife, a member of the Royal Neighbors and Rebecca Lodges. On February 1, 1909, she married Jason Butts who was born April 18, 1886. Jason died May 1957. He was a farmer and both were Presbyterians. They had two children: Florence and William.

Obituary: Mrs. Margaret Susan Butts, 79, Quenemo [KS], died Sunday in an Osage City nursing home. She had been admitted to an Ottawa hospital in September, 1969, after she sufferred a cerebral hemorrhage and was transferred to the nursing home in October. She was born December 27, 1890, at Parkerville in Morris County [KS] and moved to the Quenemo community in 1920. She had lived in Quenemo since 1945. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Royal Neighbors of America. She married Millard Jason Butts, February 10, 1908, at Council Grove [Morris Co], KS. He died April 29, 1955. Survivors include a son, W.H. Butts, rural Quenemo; a daughter, Mrs. Florence Montgomery, Lyndon [Osage Co, KS]; a sister, Mrs. Phoeba Oleson, Council Grove [Morris Co, KS]; four granddaughters and four-great-grandchildren. Services were held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Federated Church at Quenemo. Burial is in Woodlawn Cemetery at Pomona [Franklin Co, KS].
