Hogan (nee Adams) Kathleen (Kay) Mary With family at her side, Kay died peacefully in her sleep at the TBRHSC on Monday, February 26, 2007. Kay, who celebrated her 95th birthday last September, was born in Port Arthur, September 9, 1911.
Kay‘s 95 years were filled with raising eight children, holding various positions in the Girl Guide Association (Brown Owl, Commissioner and Trefoil Guild), and working in the retail sector. She was a life-long member of St. Andrew‘s Roman Catholic Church as well as an active CWL member. She gave freely of her time at the St. Joseph‘s Hospital gift shop and to its Auxiliary. Her time was also spent playing bridge, knitting, sewing, reading, and keeping in touch with family and friends.
Kay was predeceased by her loving husband, Joe; son, Ken; grandson, Bill; her parents, Ernest Adams and Winnifred Sagadore; sister, Doris Anderson; brothers, Louis and Kenneth; and grandchildren, Kalvin and Sean.
Left with many memories in their hearts are her sons, Michael (Brenda) enroute from Calgary, David (Maureen) enroute from Florida, Frank (Vicki) enroute from Marathon, Paul(Evelyn); daughters, Maureen (Hannu) Ahokas, Anne (Mel) Parr, Patti (Ralph) Kitler here from Lively; daughter-in-law, Sharon; grandchildren, Michelle, Chris, Glen, Wayne, Peter, Steven, Donna, David, Laura, Jennifer, Julie, Karen, Kevin, John, Arlene, Katie, Kim, Joey and Nicholas; 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous Adams and Hogan relatives; and friends of the family, Sophie, Ruth, Maureen and Ron. We must not forget her faithful companion, Feathers. She will also be missed by her bridge partners (Eileen, Georgia and Fern), her Prospect Avenue friends and her new friends at the Towers.
A Celebration of Kay ´s Life will be held on Monday, March 5, 2007, when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in St. Andrew ´s R.C. Church. Interment will follow in St. Andrew ´s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street with Vigil Prayers beginning at 7:00 pm. Should friends desire, donations to the St. Joseph ´s Foundation would be appreciated.
