Robert R. Barwick, 77, of 422 Fairview Ave, in Greenville, died Thursday at Delta Medical Center after an illness.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Boone-Wells Funeral Home in Greenville Rev. J. C. Cliristian will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. Boone-Wells Funeral Home has charge.

A native of Glen Allan, Mr. Barwick was the son of the late Robert J. E. Barwick and Clayton Howard Barwick, early residents of the lake
Washington area. He attended Glen Allan public schools and Delta State University.
Mr. Barwick married Julia Truman and the couple moved to Greenville in 1932 where he founded the Barwick Coal Co. and was later credit manager for C. E. Jordan Furniture Co.
Active in the First United Methodist Church of Greenville, Mr. Barwick served as a member of the official board and was a member of the Big Brothers Bible Class. He was a veteran of World War I, past commander of the American Legion and past chef de guerre of the 40 & 8 A Mason, Mr. Barwick was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors in addition to his wife of Greenville include three daughters. Mrs. Alary Downey of MS State, Mrs. Martha Irby of Starkville and Mrs. Ann O'Reilly of Greenwood: two sisters, Mrs. Mary Shields and
Mrs. Ruth Simmons, both of Greenville: a brother, Cecil Barwick of Greenville, and eight grandchildren. -Submitted by Ann Barwick O'Reilly, daughter.
