When Robert and Clayton married they were living in Panther Burn, MS. She was teaching school.
Until Dec 1898 they lived on the Mounds Plantation, East Carroll Parrish, LA. They then moved to a plantation south of Glen Allen, MS. Robert established a post office there which was named Alhamor.
Robert with a Mr. Barner started the first school in that part of the country. Early in 1903, they moved to Glen Allan were Robert served as postmaster, depot agent and ice man.
