Rev. William Comb Requa, M.D., s. of Elijah Requa and Eustatia Comb, b. 1795 at the Township of Mount Pleasant, Westchester, NY. He d. in 1886 at Bates County, MO.

In 1820 William was appointed Ass't. Superintendent of Union Mission to the Osage Indians located at what is now Mayes County, OK. William's first cousin George Requa (their fathers were brothers who married Comb sisters), was also associated with Union Mission then later with Harmony Mission at present-day Bates County, MO.
