My Great-Grandfather. Joseph Johnson Smith was the son of George A Smith and Rachel Johnson, early settlers of Logan County, Kentucky.

On December 20, 1864 he married his life's love, Florence Henrietta Draughon of Robertson County, Tennessee, just across the state line. He was a successful farmer in a family of farmers and later a seller of wheat. He and Florence had five children; George Elvis, Daisie (Love), Will C., Nannie (Love) and Tabytha. Both boys married, had families and became successful businessmen and community leaders in Springfield (Robertson County). Daisie and Nannie married brothers Charles and John Love. Neither had children. Tabytha never married.
