Mary was 97 years old and was born Feb. 9, 1905 in American Fork, Utah to Henry Albert and Margaret Ann Cheever. She married Newel McMillan in the Salt Lake Temple on Aug.
22, 1928.
Mary was a nurse at the Cottonwood Maternity Home. She loved to make quilts and crochet afghans for the Grant and Murray 7th Wards. She loved being a visiting teacher in relief society and served there many years. She loved seeing her grandchildren and looked forward to her family get togethers.
Mary raised seven children, LaVar (Ruby) McMillan, Newel (Nelma) McMillan, Vernetta (Clain) Erekson, Marilyn McMillan, Beverly Bishop, Janice (Dean) Todd, Glenda Rae (Dick) Fraizer. She was a great mom and was loved very much, Mary had 24 grandchildren, 85 great grandchildren and 35 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Newel and two sons Newel and LaVar.
Funeral services will be held Thursday March 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Belview Ward, 6300 So. 300 East. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State St. and Thursday at the church one hour prior to service. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
