Obituary from jenkins-soffe.com:
Glenda "Rae" McMillan Frazier was born on October 26, 1939 at the Cottonwood Maternity Hospital in Murray, Utah to Newel D. and Mary Cheever McMillan. She passed away peacefully in her home on September 1, 2016 at the age of 76.
She is survived by her sister, Beverly; her four children: Daniel Frazier, Raelyne Durfey (Carl), Lori Day (Carey), and Cindy Frazier; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Rae is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Frazier; her parents; and her brothers and sisters: Newel Jr. McMillan (Nelma), Lavar McMillan (Ruby), Vernetta Erekson (Clain), Marilyn McMillan, and Janice Todd (Dean).
Rae attended Liberty Elementary as a child and graduated from Murray High School in 1957. She participated in many school and church plays. A queen on wheels, Rae enjoyed roller skating, especially at the S&M skating rink that belonged to her sister, Janice, and Janice's husband, Dean. She had fond memories of growing up on her father's farm and, in particular, being part of the big family Easter egg hunt. Rae enjoyed many years working at the Mountain Bell Telephone Company in the directory department and she developed many friendships there.
Rae loved going dancing at McMillan's Dance Land, which is where she met her eternal companion, Richard. The two became inseparable and were married on February 15, 1963 at the LDS Manti Temple. After they married, they made their home in Oakley, Utah, across the street from the fairgrounds. In 1967, they made their permanent residence in Murray, Utah.
Rae was a very active member of the LDS Church, serving for a number of years in the Young Women's Auxiliary Organization and as president of the Relief Society. She loved volunteering and was always seen serving others. This brought much joy and fulfillment to her life.
Together, in their Murray home, Richard and Rae raised their four children. Rae enjoyed life as a homemaker and was very involved in her children's various school and sports activities. She was an active part of the PTA at her children's schools. Her favorite pastime was selling Avon to all of her neighbors and friends, which she did for over thirty years. Richard and Rae built a cabin in Oakley, Utah and enjoyed many summer activities there with family and friends, especially attending the 4th of July parades and rodeos.
Rae was a landlord for many years and was known for helping her tenants in any way she could. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother. She was frequently seen at her grandchildren's sporting events and school activities. Rae made every birthday and holiday a special time for the entire family.
Rae was diagnosed with dementia and struggled with the disease for many years. She was able to stay in her home with care from her granddaughter, Ana Vera, and Ana's husband, Pablo. The family is grateful for the extended care Rae received from the medical team through Intermountain Hospice, especially her nurse, Brittany, and CNAs, Rosa and Laura.
A viewing will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street in Murray. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Belview Ward, located at 6300 South 300 East in Murray, with a viewing prior from 10:00 - 10:45 am. Interment will be at the Murray City Cemetery following the funeral.
Rae will be missed greatly by her family. She will always come to mind when we see Diet Coke and sugar free cookies.
