Former Morgantown Resident, Fremont Haggard, 79, died February 27, 1986, at the Indiana Masonic Home Hospital in Franklin, where he had been a resident since 1983. Born in Morgan County on July 14, 1906, he was the son of George and Bina Sosbe Haggard. He married Opal Gross in Bloomington on September 9, 1942, and she preceded him in death. Mr. Haggard was a retired operating engineer for construction companies. He was a former member of the Morgantown Town Board and a member of the Nashville Masonic Lodge and the Morgantown Odd Fellows Lodge. Survivors include a brother, Alvin Haggard, Morgantown; and three sisters, Opal Walker and Dorothy Smith, both of Morgantown, and Leona Hilton, Indianapolis. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Meredith-Clark Funeral Home by the Rev. Carl Hicks. Burial was in the East Hill Cemetery. A Masonic service was held Saturday. March 5, 1986.
