Dwight Wendell Magee Sr. was born August 29, 1924 at Ruskin, Nebraska to William I. and Mabel E. Dillon Magee. He lived in Ruskin until after his graduation from high school in 1941. He attended N.Y.A. School in Bellvue (sic), Nebraska and later moved to Hastings where he was employed, moving later to Omaha, then to Kansas City and recently to Watertown, South Dakota.
On June 6, 1943 he was united in marriage to Virginia E. Billings and to this union five children were born: Sharon Snodgrass of Hooper, Nebraska; Harry, Sandra and Dwight Jr., all of Kansas City, Missouri and David of the home.
He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Vern.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Mrs. Mabel E. Magee of the Good Samaritan Home of Hastings; his widow; five children; a son-in-law, Arthur Snodgrass Sr; a daughter-in-law, Diana Magee; three grandchildren, Kimberly Ann and Arthur Dale Jr. Snodgrass and Heather Leann Magee; one niece, Mrs. Patty Raybal of San Jose, California; a sister-in-law, Miss Helen Ogle of Rockville, Nebraska; several aunts, many cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 11, 1971 at 1:30 p.m. at the Klawitter Funeral Home in Nelson. Rev. Lynn Evans officiated.
Casket bearers were Marvin Lewis, Raymond Wegener, Bernard Betten, Ronald Spielman, Raymond Helms, Chester Marr, Archie Neyen and Roy Miller.
Interment was in the Spring Creek Cemetery, Ruskin, Nebraska.
