Vern William, eldest son of William I. and Mabel D. Magee, was born at Ruskin, Nebr., Oct. 5, 1914.
He became a member of the Church of Christ at an early age. He gradauted from Ruskin high school in 1931.
In 1936 he went to California and on Febr. 25, 1938 was married to Margery Van Dercreek. To this union was born one daughter.
He passed away at an Omaha hospital on March 31, 1955, at the age of 40 years, 5 months and 26 days.
His father preceded him in death in 1925.
He is survived by the widow; his daughter, Patricia Louise; a stepson, Edward Heidowski, all of Colifornia (sic); his mother, Mrs. Mabel Magee of Nelson; one brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Virginia Magee, two nieces and two nephews of Omaha, also other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held in Omaha on April 4 with Rev. Kendig Rupley officiating. Music was furnished by Warren Piper at the electric organ.
Pallbearers were three former schoolmates; Ray Andersen, Ray Koken and Herbert Miller and a family friend, Charles McCall, all of Omaha.
Interment was in Mt. Hope cemetery (sic) at Omaha.
