Services for J.D. Arterberry, 44, were conducted at the Snyder Church of Christ, with Rev. J.V. Lobaugh Baptist minister officiating. Burial in Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of the Preston-Leckie Funeral Home on Thursday August 3, 1960 at 2:30 p.m.
Born November 4, 1916, in Ada, he came to the Snyder area in 1935& has continued to live here since that time. He died Tuesday, August 1, 1960 in a Lawton Hospital after a long illness with a heart ailment.
He was married to Miss Aleece Cox of Snyder October 9, 1954. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include the wife of the home, 5 sisters, Mrs Belle Gunter of Finksburg, Maryland, Mrs Mary Freeshour, Mrs Myrtle Powell, Mrs Viola Mathis, all of Chickasha, Carol Lay of Burton, 6 brothers, George of Mountain Park, Wylie of Pauls Valley, Ted of Chickasha, Bennie of Cache, John of Blanchard, H.B. of Tuttle.
Bearers were Doc Hamilton, James Moore, LeRoy Beason, Glenco Milliron, Levi Portwood.
