Myrtle was raised around Madill and came to Chickasha from Snyder in 1946. She had owned and operated Myrtle's Beauty Shop since that time, located the whole time at the Oklahoma National Bank Building. She was a member of the Michigan Avenue Baptist Church & a member of Channel 14 C B Club.
She married Roy Chamber Powell, Sr in McClain County, Oklahoma in 1924. They had one son, Roy Chamber Powell, Jr.
She is survived by a son, Roy, of Chickasha two sisters, Carol Lay of Verden and Mary Freshour of Chickasha, a brother, Benny of Alex.
