Marjorie Mae Stacy Blankenship, 86 years of age, of Grundy, Va., passed away Monday, January 14, 2008 at Buchanan General Hospital.
Born June 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Litz Stacy and Deliah Stacy Stacy. She was retired from Buchanan County School Board, enjoyed cooking, sewing, canning and most of all taking care of her family. A loving sister, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie E. Blankenship on September 3, 2005; one daughter, Bonnie Blankenship; one grandson, Matthew Blankenship; three brothers, Earl, Burt and Ned Stacy; two sisters, Tootsie Christian and Pearl Blair.
She is survived by four daughters, Myrtle Weir and husband Johnny of Florissant, Colo., Annie Maiorca and husband Nicholas of Haymarket, Va., Virginia Hudson and husband Jerry of Oklahoma City, Okla., Dorothy Barnett and husband Steve of Rochester Hills, Mich.; four sons, Charlie Blankenship Jr. of Wolford, Va., Harold Blankenship and wife Rebecca of Kent, Ohio, Donnie Blankenship and wife Diann of Grundy, Va., Edward Blankenship and wife Charlease of Wolford, Va.; one sister, Yvonne Hurley of Bristol, Va.; two brothers, Preston Stacy of Wolford, Va. and Bill Stacy of Bristol, Va.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, one step-grandson, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Marjorie Mae Stacy Blankenship will be conducted Friday, January 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Roscoe Crouse, Curtis Crouse, Bill McCoy, James Stacy, and Junior Justus officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park at Big Rock, Va.
Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Nursing Staff of Buchanan General Hospital and Dr. J.G. Patel.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday (today) where evening services will be held on Wednesday (today) and Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.
