Verancia M. "Nana" Denton, 94, of 2675 100th Ave., San Jose, died at 11:20 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2003 at Pekin Hospital, Pekin, IL.

Born May 22, 1909 in Oakford, IL to John and Pearl Anderson Oller, she first married Joseph L. Goben on February 11, 1928 in Petersburg, IL. She married Charles Denton in St. Louis, MO on April 3, 1943. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Richard (Pat) Goben of Lake Delton, WI; two daughters, Shirley (Art) Behrens of Mason City, Lavina Gay (Clem) DeMatteis of Pekin; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, five brothers, and four sisters.

She was a homemaker and member of San Jose Christian Church.

Services were at 10a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at Hurley Funeral Home in San Jose. Rev. Allen Payne officiated. Burial was in Kilbourne Cemetery, Kilbourne.
