E. Viola Aldridge, 88, formerly of 1080 Westgate Drive, died at 5:11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, in Menno Haven nursing home.

Born March 24, 1913, in Beartown, she was a daughter of the late Charles Daniel and Frances C. Bowers Woodring.

She was a member of Chambersburg Bible Church and a former member of Zion Reformed Church. She attended chapel services at Menno Haven after moving there.

Mrs. Aldridge attended Waynesboro schools.

Employed by Chambersburg Area School District, she worked for 14 years in the cafeteria of J. Frank Faust Junior High School, retiring in 1979.

She and her husband, Donald M. Aldridge, were married on Sept. 24, 1931. He died on July 2, 1988. She also was preceded in death by a son, Donnie R., in June 1932; a grandson, Greg, in June 1967; a brother, and a sister.
Surviving are three daughters and a son, Doris A. (Mrs. Richard) Stoner and Bette-Jo (Mrs. Thomas) Frazer, both of Chambersburg, and Patsy Ann (Mrs. Conrad) Rensch and William, both of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Cathrine Aughinbaugh and Beulah May Rook, both of Waynesboro; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren;

Service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home Inc., 333 Falling Spring Road. The Rev. John R. Springer will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Walden Unit at Menno Haven, 2075 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg 17201.
