Edward Cornwell 74, 2692 Green St. Lake Station, Ind. died Thursday afternoon. Born Apr 17, 1905 in Ill., he was the son of William and Clista Cornwell, formerly of Elwood. He was retired from U.S. Steel in Gary and was a member of the Steelworkers Local 1006. Surviving are four children; James Cornwell and Mrs. Betty Vest, both of Elwood; Mrs. Robert Brayfield of Hobart and Mrs. Don Rushing of Portage, eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five brothers and sisters; Mrs. Dessie Fisher and Mrs. Josephine Schimmel, both of Elwood; Robert Cornwell of Alexandria, Floyd Cornwell of Bluffton and Mrs. Velma McDaniel of Shelbyville. Funeral rites will be conducted at 11 am Monday in the Copher and Fesler Funeral Home with Rev James Judd officiating, burial will be in the Elwood City Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary..
