Warren Woman Dies Friday After Lengthy Illness

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida E. McElhaney, 79, who died at 3 p.m. Friday at a nursing home in Warren, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the H. Brown and Son funeral home in Warren, The Rev. Austin Lippitt officiating. She had been seriously ill since Christmas.

Mrs. McElhaney was born May 10, 1877, in Wells county. She married Elijah M. McElhaney, February 12, 1898, in Wells county. He died February 4[sic-14], 1951.

Survivors include three children, Mrs. Thelma Sisson of Marion, Mrs.Hazel Jacobs of Liberty Center route one, and Harry McElhaney of Warren, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was the last of her family.

Mrs. McElhaney spent her entire married life in Warren. She was a member of the Warren Congregational Christian church, the Order of Eastern Star No 269 in Warren and the Twentieth Century club.

Friends may call at the H. Brown and Son funeral home in Warren. Burial will be in the Masonic cemetery in Warren.

The Rev. Austin Lippett, pastor of the Congregational Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.

Native of Wells County, Mrs. McElhaney had spent most of her life in Warren. She was a member of the Congregational Church and of the Eastern Star and 20th Century Club.

Two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Sisson, Marion, and Mrs. Hazel Jacobs, Liberty Center; one son Harry McElhaney, Warren; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren are the survivors.

She had been seriously ill since Christmas and death was attributed to coronary thrombosis. Mrs. McElhaney was born in Wells County and her marriage to Elijah McElhaney took place Feb. 12, 1898. His death occurred Feb. 14, 1951. Mrs. McElhaney was a member of the Congregational Christian Church and also of the Order of Eastern Star and the Twentieth Century Club at Warren. She had resided in Huntington County since her marriage. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Sisson of Marion and Mrs. Hazel Jacobs of Liberty Center Route 1; a son, Harry McElhaney of Warren; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Rev.
