My dear Tish; -
Please permit me to address you so, because we have been friends for such a long time, and you have been dear to us, and also to a host of children who have passed through your grade level on their way to their educational rewards.

First, I would congratulate you on the efficient and commendable service you have performed for the Forest Hills, Adams – Summerhill and Adams Township School Districts.

I know that the inner satisfaction you have received while performing your service as a teacher, was truly overwhelming, because it was reflected in your appearance, character, personality, and all other good attributes, which show outwardly to people.

I am sure also, that the many, many children who came under your supervised direction, will long remember you, as a true and living symbol of the word teacher; a word which in the past few years, seems to headed for extinction, and oblivion.

I can remember you best in my fifteen years of service as a school director, by always being greeted by you, both cordially and with a smile.

Being a realist, I am quite sure that you had days when everything seemed wrong and blue, but my observation was that you possessed the quality and personality to screen them from your pupils and fellow school people.

When I had occasion to visit your school, I cannot remember a single time when you complained about anything, so my tribute to you would be that as a school employee, you earned everything and more that the school district ever paid you.

Daisy and I both hope and pray, that since you have rewarded so many children, by your guidance and example, that you will now be rewarded, with a long and happy retirement.

With the warmest regards,
Jim White
