Martin Luther Lloyd, 81, of 518 N. Pope St., San Angelo and formerly of Ira, died in Shannon Memorial Hospital in San Angelo at 2:25 a.m., Saturday morning, July 18th, 1964.

Funeral services will be held in Ira Baptist Church Sunday, July 19th, 1964, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Roy Haynes, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Ira Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Lloyd was born February 9, 1883 in Wood County, Texas. He married Edna Campbell, February 1, 1903 and the couple moved to Ira in 1922 where he was a deacon in the Baptist church.

He was a farmer and later worked for the Ira school system as a janitor. In 1946, he retired and moved to San Angelo. Before retirement he also worked for the Santa Rita Laundry in San Angelo. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World for 59 years.

Survivors are his wife, Edna Claire Campbell Lloyd; four sons, Iris Sigmon Lloyd, Ceward D. Lloyd, and Alonzo Horace Lloyd, all of San Angelo, Texas, and Robert Campbell Lloyd of Eunice, N.M.; one sister, Mrs. Dovie Goldsmith of Harlingen, Texas; one step-sister, Mrs. Lilly Sizer of San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, G. A. Lloyd of Big Spring, Texas, Will Lloyd of Waco, Texas and Fike Lloyd of Winnsboro, Texas; two half-brothers, Roy Lloyd of Dallas, Texas and Bruce Lloyd of Winnsboro, Texas; one step-brother, Pete Baxley of Yantis, Texas, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
