On Sunday morning, October 29, 2000, Iris Sigmon "Sig" Lloyd beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend passed on to be with our heavenly father. Sig will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, at Johnson's Funeral Home with Bill Butts, pastor of the Second Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Sig was born in Quitman, Texas on October 16, 1911, to Martin and Edna Lloyd. They preceded him in death. He was raised in Scurry County, Texas. He married Maggie Walker on December 2, 1940, in Snyder, Texas.

Sig served his country in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 during World War II. He and Maggie moved to San Angelo, Texas in 1946. He worked at Jim Bass Ford as the Service Manager for 34 years and he was a member of the Second Baptist Church of San Angelo.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Alonzo Horace Lloyd and Robert Campbell Lloyd, one sister, Addie Leola Lloyd Moore , and one nephew, and one niece.

Survivors include his wife Maggie Lloyd of San Angelo; brother, Ceward D. Lloyd and wife Golda of San Angelo; sister-in-law, Velma Ruth Lloyd of San Angelo; nephews Terry Lloyd and wife Marty of Newton, Texas, Robert Lloyd of San Angelo, Bill Lloyd of Poth; neices Barbara Cooley and husband Mike of Haines City, Florida, and Peggy Berry of Nederland; numerous great-nephews, great-nieces, and beloved friends.

Pallbearers will be Bill Lloyd, Robert Lloyd, Curtis Lloyd, Larry Hillis, Wilburn Gruben, and H.B. Walker. The family requests memorials be made to VistaCare Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
