Glenn Arthur Stearman, 94, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Valley Center, died March 3, 2002. He was the former owner and president of Stearman Aircraft Products Corporation of Valley Center.
He was born Oct.16, 1907, in Cherokee, Okla., the son of Henry Guy Stearman and Maxi Sly (Richards) Stearman.
He married Coral Harriet Strickland on June 15, 1930, in Wichita. She preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 1988. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Gail Stearman, and two sisters, Ila Stearman and Mabel Dadismon.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Beverly of Austin, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Guyna and Mason of Valley Center, Glenna and Joel of Memphis, Tenn., Suzanne and Giovanni of Newton, Mass.; brothers, Melford Stearman of Lincoln, Neb., Guy Stearman of Wichita; sisters, Maurice Peterson, Wanda Stephens, both of Wichita; 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
