William Browning Lafferty born 21 Nov 1917 Roswell, New Mexico Died 22 Oct 2005 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. he married Rose Kathryn Ambrose.

+Bill worked at the Corner Drug Store in Alamogordo, studied pharmacy under his older brother Walter and Mr. Hamilton. Bill passed the state test and was licensed to practice in New Mexico. He moved to Albuquerque and worked for Henry's Pharmacy until he went into the Army. During World War II he was assigned at Letterman General Hospital, in San Francisco, Calif. and was in charge of all the hospital pharmacies. Places he was stationed during World War II. 1. Ft Bliss, Texas 2. Basic training Camp Grant, Rockford, Ill. 3. Letterman Hospital in San Francisco to form Cadry (basic Units that include Pharmacist, Lab Tech, Ward Technician etc. to send over seas.) 4. Stoneman in Pittsburgh, Calif
near Antioch. Ran the Pharmacy at Camp Stoneman for 2 years. He met his wife in Pittsburgh, California. Rose was a school teacher.

After the war they wanted to live in Calif., but Bill's license was not acceptable. Rose and Bill moved to Albuquerque where he worked at Henry's Pharmacy and attended N.M. University. Bill graduated first in his class. Valedictorian. It was the first to class to graduate from the school of Pharmacy. They moved back to California. He owned a Pharmacy in Livermore, California. Lived in Oceanside, Calif. in 1980 and then moved to Antioch, CA to retire. In 1993 at the age of 76 Bill and Rose celebrated their 50th anniversary by taking a second honeymoon and drove to Florida to spend time with some friends. In Oct 2005 Bill and his younger brother Marley did a roots trip back to Alamogordo, New Mexico where he and Marley met with the town historian and told their stories about how it was to grow up in Alamogordo. From there he and Marley went to Albuquerque where Bill enrolled for his 60 Pharmacy class reunion. Marley took him to the hotel where Bill met up with a the old Dean of Schools. They had breakfast that morning and on the way to the reunion Mr Bliss was driving and he ran a red light. The traffic light had been installed a long time after they had gone to school there. The vehicle was struck on the passenger side and both Bill and Mr Bliss were pronounced dead at the scene. His wife of 62 years who was 90 suffered a heart attack after hearing the news. She survived her heart attack. Bill was taken back to Antioch, California for burial.
