Leo was a 19 yr veteran of the US Army & died while a POW in Korea. He was a member of the 82nd AAA Bat, 2nd Inf Div. He was taken prisoner while fighting near Kunu-ri, North Korea Dec 1, 1950.
Several articles appeared in the 'Springfield Union' paper between 1951 & 1955, when his remains were returned to family for burial. He was survived by his wife, Antoinette (Ligarski) Manegre, a son, Arthur L. and daughter, Barbara M.
He recieved a full military honor burial at St. Michael's Cemetery Feb 10, 1955. He is buried at the corner of his parent's marker.
