Laura A. Olphin, 68, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at ManorCare-Dallastown. She was the wife of Vernon Olphin, to whom she was married 52 years August 19, 2002. Born August 9, 1934, in Bittersville, she was the daughter of Esther Brenneman of York and the late Alvin W. Brenneman.

She attended school in Windsor; worked as a laborer for People's Drug Store, David's Shoe Co. and Carron Game Board. She attended Missionary Alliance Church in Red Lion.

She leaves two sons, Vernon A. Olphin Jr. of Felton and William A. Olphin of Windsor; a brother, Alvin W. Brenneman Jr. of Deltona, Fla.; five sisters, Ruth 'Sis' Paules of Jacobus, Norma Brown and Shirley Brown, both of White Hall, Md., Nancy Hilbert of Dover and Lucille 'Lucy' Brenneman of York; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a viewing from 12:30 to 2 p.m. today at the John H. Danner Funeral Home, 822 E. Market St. The service will begin at 2 p.m., with Rev. Glenn M. Dietrich of St. Paul's U.M. Church in Red Lion officiating.

Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery in Felton. Memorial contributions may be made American Diabetes Association, 8300 Professional Place, Suite 105, Lanham, Md. 20785; or to Vernon Olphin Sr., c/o John H. Danner Funeral Home, to help defray the funeral expenses.
