YORK Alvin Wilson Brenneman Sr., 89, died Wednesday, November 6. He was the husband of Esther N. (Smeltzer) Brenneman. The couple celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on April 2.

Viewing will be Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. Funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Home Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Brenneman was born in Windsor on December 15, 1912. He was the son of the late Kurvin W. and Carrie A. (Houston) Brenneman.

He retired in 1978 from the former International Harvester Company and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Red Lion.

He is survived by a son, Alvin W. Brenneman Jr. of Deltona, Fla.; six daughters, Laura A. Olphin of Felton, Ruth V. 'Sis' Paules of Jacobus, Norma M. Brown and Shirley A. Brown, both of White Hall, Md., Nancy L. Hilbert of Dover and Lucy E. Brenneman of York; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; one greatgreat-grandson; and two brothers, Wallace L. Brenneman of Red Lion and Harry R. Brenneman of Dallastown.
