Viewings will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at the mortuary with the Rev. Darryl C. Zoller and Pastor Ray Powers officiating.
Burial will be in Stabler's Cemetery, Parkton, Md. Born September 25, 1941, in Windsor, Norma was the daughter of the late Alvin W. and Esther N. (Smeltzer) Brenneman.
Norma was a member of Stablers Church in Parkton, Md. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, loved knitting afghans, and was a devoted Elvis fan. Norma's life revolved around her family and she was the first responder when they needed her. She was a very dedicated mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband,
Norma is survived by her children, John M. Brown of Red Lion, and Jay D. Brown and his wife, Erin, and Linda M. Openshaw and her husband, Ron, all of White Hall, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Kendra Brown; 10 grandchildren, Amy, Mike, Justin, Brianne, Charlie, Travis, Brandon, Gracie, Ronnie, and Troy; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin Brenneman, Jr.; and four sisters, Ruth Paules, Nancy Hilbert, Shirley Brown, and Lucy Brenneman. She was preceded in death by one sister, Laura Olphin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
