Verda Cloy Miner Ashman, 87, died February 8, 1992.

Born February 2, 1904 in Fairview, Utah to Albert U. Miner and Estella Day. Educated in Sanpete County and attended BYU, where she received her Normal Diploma and later her Bachelors degree in English and Physical Education. She taught school for many years.

She married Harold Ashman of Fillmore in the Manti Temple on December 23, 1927. She was active in the communities where she lived and held many positions in the LDS Church.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Ashman; three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Richard (Joyce) Rawson of Cody, Wyo.; Mrs. Richard (Marilyn) Ashby of Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. Malcom (Sheryl) Taylor of Phoenix, Ariz.; Lowell Ashman of Hickory, N. C.; Kent Ashman of St. George; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters, Dr. Montel Miner of Canoga Park, Calif.; Mark Miner of Long Beach, Calif.; Glen Miner of Salt Lake City; DeVere Miner of Logan; Mrs. Francis (Louie Jean) Bahr of Orem; and Mrs. Francis (Ila) Mortenson of American Fork.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 12, 1992, at the St. George LDS 13th Ward Chapel, 166 South Main, where friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.

Interment in the St. George City Cemetery under the direction of the Metcalf Mortuary
