BEEVILLE - Funeral services for Grover C. James, 71, who died Saturday night at his home here at 300 E. Clare, will he held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Galloway-Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gene Blanton, Baptist minister at Anqute, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Gene Shomake, minister of Calvery Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Beeville Memorial Park.
James was a retired gauger and pumper from Kirks Bros. oil company.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie; five sons Leslie M. of Aztec, N.M., Gerald of Banquete, Maj. K. L. James of Chicago, George M. of Maljamar, N.M., and Glen Dale of Shreveport, La.; four daughters, Mrs. Retha Merrell of Pleasanton, Mrs. Naomi Dooling of Beeville, Mrs. Nellie Jo LaRocque of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Dorothy Ann Drollinger of Corpus Christi; 18 grandchildren, a brother and four sisters.
