Funeral services for Helen Frances Thomas, who died on Friday, Sept 25, at the age of 86, will be held on Monday, Sept. 28 at 2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Glen Millard officiating. Interment will follow at the Red Hill Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thomas was born on Feb. 5, 1895 at Rushville, Ill. Ahe left Illinois at the age of 12 and moved to Artesia, N. M., with her family and then they moved to the Hammon area. They then moved to the Sandstone area and lived there until 1945, and then they moved to Elk City and had lived here since Mrs. Thomas was married to Benjamin Harvey Thomas in 1913 at Carlsbad, N. M. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1955. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was survived by one son, J. T. Thomas of Riverside, Calif., two daughters, Hazel Dodson of Cheyenne, and Mary Chapman of Elk City; one sister, Nina Cole of Artesia, N. M.; eight grand-children; 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, two brothers, and three sisters.
In February 1962 Helen was living in/near Elk City, Oklahoma.
In May 1965 Helen was living in/near Elk City.
