In 1917 Emma Staley first married Edward Francis Dick (1874 - 1949) parents unknown but may have been raised by a John Pingley.

Emma and Edward had the following children:

6. John Henry 1926 or 1928

Family is uncertain why Edward left the family home and marriage; he died later in Fairmont, Martin County, Minnesota while engaged in itinerant farm labor just months before ex-wife Emma. Any further info is sought.

On 1936, Emma next married Bwidower Benjamin Franklin Wombles (1884 – 1954) son of John Wombles and Nancy Smith, who had 7 adult children from his first marriage to Edith Smith (1879 – 1929).

Emma and Ben spent their mature years in Paris, Illinois where they are buried together in the Edgar Cemetery.
