Frances V. (Lake) Lehr, 76, of New Freedom, died at 1:23 p.m. Monday at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Russell E. Lehr. The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Burg Funeral Home Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Burial will be in Locust Grove (Brethren) Cemetery. Viewings will be 6 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Lehr was born Aug. 24, 1922, in Woodstock, Va. She was the daughter of the late John H.V. and Mary F.V. (Scott) Lake. She was a press operator at Graham Engineering, retiring in 1988. She attended Chapel Hill Community Church in Shrewsbury, and was a member of local and national American Association of Retired Persons. Mrs. Lehr is survived by six sons, Ronald E. Lehr of Manchester, Charles R. Lehr of Yorkanna, Lonnie R. Lehr of Jacobus, Richard A. Lehr of Weiglestown, Marlin D. Lehr of Windsor and Russell E. Lehr Jr. of Red Lion; five daughters, Faye A. DeVoe of Glen Rock, Judy A. Gregory of Hanover, Shirley L. Schmidt of Red Lion, and Diane Y. Hershner and Wanda L. Holtzinger, both of Windsor; 41 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dean L. Lake of Red Lion, Larry F. Lake of York and Albert A. Lake of Seattle; and two sisters, Mary Z. Snyder of York and Dixie J. Wise of Turtle Point, N.Y. Mrs. Lehr was preceded in death by two sons, Gene W. Lehr, who died in 1973 and Donald R. Lehr, who died in 1977; and a daughter, Joan R. Ritz, who died in 1996. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Frank E. Miller Sr. of Chapel Hill Community Church.
