A resident and native of Brusly, he died at 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 80 and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly, from 11:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, celebrated by the Rev. Matthew Dupré. Entombment in church mausoleum. Survived by a brother, Eldridge "Bro" Chustz, Addis; sister-in-law, Katie Chustz, Baton Rouge; niece, Donna Chustz Kirkland and husband Allen, Addis; nephew, Aubin Chustz, Baton Rouge; great-nephew, Dustin Kirkland, Austin, Texas; and two great-nieces, Leigh Ann Allyn Kirkland and Lindsy Kirkland Cordell and husband Michael, all of Addis. Preceded in death by parents, Daily Joseph and Cornelia LeJeune Chustz; sister, Donna Chustz; and five brothers, Malcolm, Leon, Lynn, Doyle and Stuart Chustz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 248, Brusly, LA 70719 or the American Cancer Society.
