Former Underwood resident Jessamine E. Ziegler, the widow of the late I.R. Ziegler, died April 8 in a Vancouver hospital, at the age of 88
Mrs. Ziegler, a homemaker and resident of Vancouver since 1947, was born July 24, 1896, in Taney County, Missouri. She married Israel Roy Ziegler April 8, 1940 in Outlook, Wash. The couple moved to Underwood, where they lived until 1945, A move to Portland that year was followed by a move to Vancouver in 1947." Mrs. Ziegler was preceded in death by her husband, who died March 21,-1950.
She was a member of the Peace Church of the Brethren in Portland and the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Mrs. Ziegler is survived locally by step-sons Reno and LeRoy Ziegler of Underwood and stepdaughter Eva Ftazer of White Salmon. Other survivors include her son, Elin L. Marlow of Vancouver; daughters Mildred Denison, Cornelius, Ore., Toni Thomas, Gales, Ore:, Lily Martin, Scio, Ore., and Violet Moore, . Sturgeon. Mo; stepdaughters Mamie Harris, Winchester Bay; Ore., Myrtle Hammond, Ojai Calif,, and Esther Brower, Desert Hot Springs,. Calif,: sisters Marie Walden, McMinnville, Ore., and Orlea Timns, Sheridan, Ore,; and 26 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Memorial services were conducted April 11at the Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home in Vancouver, with the Rev. Burton Brown officiating.
