Son of S. S. Anderson and Elizabeth Davis McWhite Brooks, husband of Ina Johnson.


MARION - Armitage Morgan Brooks died at his home near Marion on Wednesday evening, October 2, at 7 o'clock. Funeral services were held at the residence the following Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. L. L. Bedenbaugh. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.


Mr. Brooks was born in Marion County and spent practically all his life in the same community. He was a progressive farmer and contractor and a member of the Marion Methodist Church.


His condition had been serious since last February, but he put up such a brave fight that it was not until a month ago that it was realized that the end was so near.


He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ina Johnson Brooks; two daughters, Misses Vera and Mary Elizabeth Brooks; and three sons, Louie, Thomas and William Brooks, all of Marion.
