MARION - The people of Marion were shocked Monday morning when it was announced that Mrs. H. C. Richardson had died at her home on Wilcox Avenue early that day. It seems that Mrs. Richardson became violently ill Sunday night and although medical attention was quickly given, she had passed away in the early hours of Monday morning. Few people were aware of her illness.
She was the wife of H. C. Richardson, a well known merchant of Marion, and a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Brooks and was just 39 years of age. She is survived by her husband, three little sons and one little daughter. Besides three brothers, A. M. Brooks, W. F. Brooks and K. D. Brooks all of Marion, and three sisters, Mrs. W. C. Baker of Mullins, and Mrs. J. R. Baker and Mrs. J. W. Hargrove of Marion.
The funeral services were conducted at the Richardson home at noon Monday and the interment was made at Rose Hill Cemetery. Dr. D. M. McLeod of the First Methodist church officiating at each service. A large gathering of grief stricken friends and relatives collected to pay their last tribute of respect to this good woman.
